The Amount of Pressure Inside the Earth

The Inner part of the Earth

Scientists have divided the interior of the earth into four levels. The first level is the surface of the earth. What we call in Bengali is crust. In English it is called Crust. Just below it, 2,896 sq km, there is a layer of mineral material called mantle. Occasionally molten and heated material comes out of this layer through volcanoes. Then it is called lava.

Just below it are layers of iron and nickel. The estimated temperature at this level is 3,600 degrees centigrade. The circumference of the deepest solid layer is 2,440 square kilometers.

The Amount of pressure inside the Earth

Scientific experiments have shown that the pressure is about 0.5 metric tons per square centimeter 1.6 kilometers below the surface. From this average calculation, the amount of pressure at the center is about 2222 metric tons per square centimeter. Needless to say, this calculation is not perfect. According to another calculation, the amount of pressure at the center of the earth is 15-30 million atmospheres (1 atmosphere = 1.0333 kilograms of pressure per square centimeter).
