How to tell if a multiplug is broken?

It is easy to tell whether a multiplug is broken or not through a few external signs and simple tests.

For example,

External damage: Melting of the plastic of the multiplug, black spots on it or cracks.

Burning smell or sound: Sparks or flashes of fire when plugging in, cracking sound or smell of burning plastic.

Loose connection: The plug is loose in the socket and the line repeatedly comes and goes.

Switch problem: The indicator or light of the multiplug does not light up or does not work even after switching on.

Using a tester or multimeter: Check whether there is electricity in the socket by connecting the tester or multimeter to the main line.

Note: When testing, the multiplug must be disconnected (unplugged) from the main power connection.

If you cannot understand the problem by hand or with the naked eye, you should seek the help of an electrician.
