Psoriasis symptoms, causes and treatment

There are hardly any people who are not familiar with the name Chuli or Chaud. But many people do not have a clear idea about the disease. So different people evaluate it in different ways. The disease is not fatal. No comorbidities are associated with the disease. The disease is present all over the world and most of the cases are seen in young people especially in hot and humid areas. The disease does not occur in children at all and is rare in people over the age of forty. The spread of this disease is seen during summer.

The disease is chronic, asymptomatic, and is caused by a yeast-like bacterium (Pitiosporon obiculare).

Symptoms:

Symptoms may appear as smooth cigarette ash-like dead cells in the form of diffuse or clustered discolored patches on the affected area. Due to differences in human body color, the areas may appear in different colors such as white, pink or brown. Again these dead cells may remain absent for several hours after washing. Affected areas are mainly the upper chest, neck, throat, shoulders, upper back, and may even extend to areas adjacent to the face, armpits or hands. Affected areas may appear lighter in color compared to the surrounding skin if left untreated in summer and darker in winter.

Reasons:

 Although normal skin contains this bacteria in everyone, it is not known why some people develop it while others remain normal. Factors that can cause the spread of this disease include;

1) Pregnancy,

2) Any other serious disease of the body,

3) Hereditary tendency,

4) The cause of high blood cortisol levels in those who use steroid drugs.

5) Hot and humid weather.

The disease can embarrass the patient for years due to inadequate treatment and recurrent attacks and hereditary predisposition. Excessive sweating and wearing a lot of synthetic and tight clothing, sun and humid weather can aggravate the rash. Generally: Scabies increases in summer and monsoon and decreases in winter. All these ringworms are hidden on the scalp.

Diagnosis:

The disease can be diagnosed by following tests.

1) The disease can be confirmed by seeing the presence of many small long and angular hyphae and yeast molasses under a microscope using potassium hydroxide in the white dead cells of the affected area.

2) The causative yeast cannot be cultured in any media.

3) The disease can also be diagnosed by the fact that the color of the affected area may be golden or orange when examined by a type of special strong lamp (called Wood lance).

Treatment:

Treatment is done for cosmetic reasons only. Because yeast is not harmful. Because the germs live in normal skin, the disease often appears. There are many medications and methods for treatment, including topical medications and oral medications. But before everything, due importance should be given to the following issues, only then success can be expected in the treatment.

1) Treatment should be taken for a sufficient period of time.

2) Bath must be taken before any medicine to be applied locally in the evening.

3) In most cases, topical medication should be applied to the entire area from the neck to the waist, as the affected spots may be widespread and often remain invisible.

4) In most cases, the symptoms disappear within a few days of using the medicine, but it takes a few weeks to be completely sure.

5) Normal color may return very slowly and may take months.

6) Recurrence of the disease may occur despite appropriate treatment, but again treatment may improve.

7) Due to the frequency of recurrence of the disease, many experts recommend to use the drug for treatment only two consecutive nights for a year for a full recovery.
