Hazrat Khadijah (peace be upon him) was the first woman of Islam and the first wife of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He is an important figure in the history of Islam. Some key facts about his life and contribution are mentioned below:
1. Birth and family
Hazrat Khadija (A.S.) was born in a respectable family of Quraysh clan.
His father name was Khuwaylid ibn Asad and his mother name was Fatima bint Zayda.
2. Married life
Hazrat Khadijah (as) was a successful businessman and known as "Tahira" (Holy Woman).
He appointed Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) as a business partner for his honesty and trustworthiness.
At the age of 25, she got married to Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh). Hazrat Khadijah was about 40 years old at that time.
3. Contribution to Islam
He was the first person to accept the prophethood of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and enter Islam.
In the early years of Islam, he trusted the Prophet (PBUH) and played an important role in his preaching.
He spent his wealth for Islam and helped the oppressed Muslims of Mecca.
4. Death
Hazrat Khadijah (A.S.) passed away in 620 AD (10 Prophetic years).
The year of his death is known as “Amul Hujun” or “The Year of Sorrow” because in the same year Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) also lost his beloved uncle Abu Talib.
5. Notable features
She was an intelligent, kind and courageous woman.
The first Islamic society was established in the house of Hazrat Khadija (A.S.).
6. Offspring
They had six children, the most notable of whom was Fatimah (alayhis salam), the wife of the fourth Caliph of Islam, Hazrat Ali (a.s.) and the mother of Imam Hasan (a.s.) and Imam Hussain (a.s.).
